This was an excellent book. I'm not used to reading non-fiction, one of the things I did not like was the way events are not necessarily told in chronological order... although for the most part they were... once in awhile the author seemed to "jump around" in the storyline. This took a little getting used to. What I loved about this book was the abundance of detail which brought it all into focus. I felt like I was getting as accurate a picture of reality as it is possible to get of something that happened so long ago. The author has painstakingly pieced together many pieces of historical evidence to present a whole picture which must be close to actuality. The story of these women, their ambitions, and the ambitions of others... and Henry's quest for the perfect queen... it's too good to pass up!
