Synopsis:

If you like murder mysteries or solving puzzles this book is a must read! I thought it was a fantastic book, probably my favorite read this year. The plot takes off right from the start and is a fast-paced adventure, a real page turner. There are mysteries and puzzles around every corner.. but the best part of this book is all of the juicy historical tid-bits that are thrown in throughout the novel. The main character, Mr. Langdon, is a symbology expert and we are treated
the history and derivations of many common symbols and elements in today's world, which I found to be fascinating.
This book rates high in entertainment value as well as intellectual stimulation, which made it a winner with me!

I totally agree with Sharon's take on The Da Vinci Code. This was an extremely fast-paced book. The only thing that I did not enjoy was the fact that the characters were able to travel so much and get so much code-breaking done in one night. I tried to "displace my believeatude" :O), but the sheer logistics of it all kept distracting me from what was actually taking place in the story. Other than that, this is a wonderful book, but you'll wish it was longer.

I thought this book was the best book I have ever read! It was very thought provoking and I have been entranced by ideas of the Holy Grail and its mysteries from the moment I started reading the book. This book is extremely suspenseful and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in not only mysteries and murders, but also historical reads. So this book combines not just a great plot but historical facts. What more to ask for?

Did you know there's a parody of the Da Vinci Code out there? It's called The Givenchy Code. I think it's a great way for readers of 'The Da Vinci Code' to lighten up, have a bit of fun, relax, take a deep breath after reading, no, absorbing, the ultra-serious and definitely nail-biting moments and revelations of Dan Brown's astonishing novel.

I'll have to look into The Givenchy Code--sounds fun. I really enjoyed The Da Vinci Code. Similar thrill as reading Grisham's The Firm for the first time; you didn't want it to end. I'm hoping "they" make it into a worthwhile movie. Any word on that yet? I could see Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz or Catherine Zeta Jones in the lead. Any other thoughts?

I really enjoyed this book and thought it was the best book i had read this year. As for a movie, i have an image of George Clooney as Langdon, Jeno Reno (Leon, Godzilla) as Bezu Fache, Penelope Cruz as Sophie and Dolph Lundgren as Silas. Anyone care to elaborate on this?

I think it would make a fantastic movie. I see Langdon being played by Harrison Ford and I think I could see Sean Connery as a good Teabing.

I am very anxious indeed to see this movie. However, I am afraid that some of the most important messages found in this book will be omitted in the movie. Anyone who has seen 'the name of the rose' movie will understand what i mean

what a wonderful Langdon will Hanks make! and I agree completely with the idea of Sean Connery as Teabing, I can hardly wait to see the movie, but won`t Howard take a dark sight of all the beautiful places where the novel takes place?

I feel like I am the only person around who was disappointed in this book. I was definitely enthralled while I was reading it but after I finished it I feel robbed. I felt very unsatisfied and empty of any thought on it at all. It is another example of a plot-driven novel. Of course, people do read novels for entertainment alone and this novel does entertain indeed. I got sucked in by the hype and I was ultimately disappointed.

i thought this book was so good, but because im catholic it goes against my beliefs but that didnt stop me from loving it. Whwther true or not this book is captivating. though it does end a bit empty and leaves you a little unsatisfied.
great book though -- cant wait for the movie!

BIG disapointment. The whole book builds up an up...and then just ends. Seriously unsatisfying finish.It's almost as though Dan Brown just got tired of writing it and rushed the end just to have it finished.
