| Re: The Time Traveller’s Wife by Audrey Niffeneger
Yeh, I liked this. I expected it to be a bit lame, since my girlfriend bought it... at the airport. But no, it was fascinating; one of the very best things I read last year.
The only problem was a couple of inconsistencies. I can't really remember too clearly now, and I decided to forgive them at the time because otherwise I enjoyed it so much. Anyway, it seemed pretty sure that Henry would die a certain way, and Clare remembered seeing an oldish looking Henry when she was a girl - I think the oldest she ever saw him, standing with her father and brother. Hang on, it's coming back to me now. I think he was supposed to jump back in time to when her father and brother were hunting deer. He expected to materialise behind the bushes and start running away, but get shot or something. The thing is, I'm pretty sure this would be impossible... as he wouldn't have had any feet to run on.
Sorry I can't be more certain or specific, but if anyone has read this more recently than I have, and has any comments to make, I'd be interested.
