MICHAEL HOFFMAN was born in Montreal, Canada, and has lived in Japan since
1982. His short fiction has appeared in various North American and Japanese
magazines. He is the author of One-Armed Yatsu & Other Stories, also
available through 1stbooks. As a freelance journalist he is a regular
contributor of essays, book reviews and translations to Japan's
English-language media. He is co-author of the bestselling Tokyo
Confidential (The East Publications, Tokyo), a collection of tall but true
tales from the Land of the Cherry Blossom Blushing in the Rising Sun. He is
currently at work on a long, ominous novel set in a Japanese backwater.
