The Binding Chair

Having read and re-read Memoirs of a Geisha and found it to be one of a very few boks I was unable to get rid of in my recent clearout, I thought I would recommend another book in a similar vein to all it's fans.

The Binding Chair is beautifully written and provocative story surrounding Chinese culture and the, thankfully now-obsolete, tradition of feet binding. I loved this book almost as much as 'Memoirs', and having now made room on my shelves am going to go and buy it - unfortunately I can't remember the Author (shocking!)
Well worth a look and sure to leave it's mark!
