Devil in the White City by Erik Larson

Devil in the White City is about the construction of the World Fair in Chicago(late 1800's) and about a serial killer who preyed on young women. I thought it was going to be a lot more "gripping" than it was. It was very factual and well researched but a little too dry for my interests. It was nominated for a National Book Award and well, I didn't find it to be one of the best peices of literature I've read in 2003. At times I even thought it to be boring and I couldn't wait to get the thing over with.
