Anyone interested in writing Novels?

Hi!

My name is Heather. I don't know about you guys, but I like to write. I am currently working on a novel. I finished it, and now I need to find a publisher. Some people might think 15 is too young to write a 278 page novel. What do you think?

Heather, i think you should seriously try to get your novel published. 15 is definitely not too young, age doesnt really matter, its really what you write and its appeal to readers. My friend, Catherine got her storyline published by "Random" at the age of 13. Im 15 too and im currently working on a mix of bio/fiction about my life and my dreams. If you really want I could help you find a good publishing company ~ Toodles!

I agree with Ensei Tankado (intro Digital Fortress, Dan Brown). You should try to get your novel published. Ray BRadbury started writing at the age of 16 and sent in requests for publishing dozens of times...the first story to be accepted was the same story that was rejected dozens of times. He is now the 5th best-selling American author. I would also like to see your story-line. I wont steal it, promise. Just tell me an Ensei a bit about your story.

Yea, I think you should tell us some stuff about your story-line. Doesnt have to be a summary, can just be a genre clue like romance, fiction sci-fi....I'll tell you guys about what im working on right now too. Robert Langdon...(intro Angels and Demons, Dan Brown) LOL

Re: Anyone interested in writing Novels?

Hi Heather,

Your age does not matter. In a way it is a plus because it means you have many years to write. I recommend you get your parents envolved and have them assist you in pursuing your career because there will be contracts to sign. Have your mother check Publish America at http://www.publishamerica.com. You must be willing to put in some hard work to get recognized. After all, no one will know that you exist until you pormote. There are many websites that offers information.

It is great being an author and nothing is more enjoyable to an author than writing that first novel.

Good Luck!

Re: Anyone interested in writing Novels?

I'm only eleven, turning twelve soon, and I've writen a novel. I'm looking for a publisher too. In reality, I started writing it when I was only TEN! I think that you should definatly try to publish your book and that fifteen is definatly NOT too young to write a 278 page novel.

don't you think that you are too young to write novels? Do you have enought knowlege to writye a novel? I think that you can write a novel for childrens not a novel like Digital Fortress or DaVinci Code.

Re: Anyone interested in writing Novels?

In reality, it only matters how good your plot and story is. Not the age of the writer.

So depend on your talent, not on your age.
