Re: Proofreader needed - legal transcripts

Hi,

I live in Toronto (Canada) and run a full-time home-based business as a translator/proofreader. Are you still looking for people to do proofreading for your legal transcripts?

Thank you kindly.

Re: Proofreader needed - legal transcripts

Hello, This is a very outdated response. I am available to proofread legal transcripts. My turn around depends on the length of the document. My prices are very reasonable. I charge no more than one us dollar per legal page. The price per page depends on the amount of correction needed in the whole cdocument. There is a $20.00 minimum.
Multiple tasks can be arranged into a package price as well. I use a virtual office set up for documents and am a Notery Public for the state of Florida. I welcome any questions.

Sincerely, Ingrid Gipson

Re: Proofreader needed - legal transcripts

I wonder if they would prefer to choose a notary who knows how to spell the name of their job. It is proofreading, after all.

Re: Proofreader needed - legal transcripts

I posted this item quite some time ago, but the last thing I want to see is someone who has some negativity out there. If you don't have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself. That was a real nasty posting that was just made. I think we can all assess who we would like working for us without getting some smart ass who needs to comment for no good reason.

Re: Proofreader needed - legal transcripts

Hello, Nancy!

For the past two decades, I have offered my freelance editing, proofreading, and ghostwriting services - worldwide and locally. I offer stellar testimonials from previous and ongoing clients and a variety of training and experience in diverse fields that will complement your publishing team. I also have an innate understanding of ESL authors/learners; that’s when the ‘intuitive editing’ process most comes into play. I offer exemplary customer service, office organization, and client interface skills, with an award-winning real estate career in years prior with Coldwell Banker as proof.

I have assisted with ghostwriting, copywriting, proofreading, copyediting, multi-media research, desktop publishing, client intake/interview, market and product research, creation and implementation of surveys, promotional and marketing services, i.e. direct mailings, newsletters, press releases, brochures, product booklets, and correspondence (business and personal), Ebooks, websites, resumes, geological lab reports, case studies, a column for a men's psychology magazine, U.S. Census results, medical and legal files, dissertations, correspondence, and more! Full length novels (fiction and non-fiction), web sites, reviews, scientific and factual excerpts, and press releases are included in my repertoire.

Please Google "Be, Do, Have - the Trilogy of Human Achievement" (Palangi) and "Iraq Decoded" (Fazeli) – two of the full-length, non-fiction books I have edited. I have written for Eva Gregory, who is currently co-authoring a book with Jack Canfield (of “Chicken Soup for the Soul” fame). I am the sole editor for the School of Phenomenal Memory; a European-based enterprise now expanding into the US. Client projects have run the gamut from grade school level up through Ph.D. I am well-versed in legal, nautical, medical, and insurance terminology. Other areas of expertise include world religions, real estate, self-help, geography, metaphysical and New Age topics, interpersonal and business-to-business communication, multi-media research, product and service marketing, to include product launching and branding, entrepreneurial and business start-up services to build recognition and sales, nature and outdoor pursuits and related industries. I look forward toanswering any questions you may have!

I look forward to assisting you!

Re: Proofreader needed - legal transcripts

I am a retired court reporter. I proofread for other court reporters and do so purely from
J-O-Y, not money.
I have extensive experience in medical, legal and insurance terms.
Please contact me if you're interested in having me proofread for you......I can assure you, I will charge an extraordinary minimum fee....and you can even make your check payable to a non-profit local animal rescue group and deduct it.......as I said, I proof for fun and not the money, but I do want the animal rescue group to receive a minimal donation.

Re: Proofreader needed - legal transcripts

Hi. If you are still looking for an experienced proofreader, I can help. My rates are typically $1 a page, or we could work something out if you have frequent work. I can work via email or hard copy - whichever is easiest for you - and I'm always flexible about payment schedules. I have 25+ years of copy editing and published writing. If you want a list of my work history and references, please contact me at autiej@gmail.com. I could start working for you right away!

Re: Proofreader needed - legal transcripts

Hi,

My name is Nancy as well, but not the same Nancy as the originator of this thread.

I have been proofreading since 1993. Unfortunately, I do not have the luxury to proofread for almost free, but I can guarantee you that my rates are quite competitive. My normal turnaround time is about 48-72 hours, and that rate is .25 a page. If someone needs a transcript proofread within 24 hours, the rate is .45 a page.

I will also begin scoping in June 2009 using CaseCat, so please feel free to contact me about that as well if you're looking for a scopist.

Please take the time to e-mail me with any questions, comments or reference requests at NLMiller1975@yahoo.com. Thank you.

I'm a court reporter looking for extra cash and would be glad to proofread transcripts. I'm not sure what the going rate is, but I think .50 to .75 is fair and resonable. Please let me know if you're interested.

Re: Proofreader needed - legal transcripts

Hi Nancy,

I read alot of articles and books, it is amazing how many errors that I find. Does anyone proofread anymore? I do freelance work in marketing, I write resumes and short bios for people. I am meticulous when it comes to proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. I have never proofread for a living, but I think that I should. I am very interested in discussing this with you further. Reading too many articles full of misspellings and errors has motivted me to respond to your request. I know that it has been some time since you have posted this, but I just found it. My turnaround time will be quick, I'm not sure what to charge, whatever is reasonable and fair. I am also a very creative writer. I look forward to hearing from you.

I love that people are still replying to this position after seven months. Doesn't anyone read the details? And when replying, it's best not to misspell or to use non-words such as "alot". Nice.

Re: !!

To "The Proof..."

I agree that the individual who offers his or her services should absolutely spell the word notary correctly.

But I might add that the author of the comment about spelling should shift his or her attention to agreement. A singular author should proofread his or her work accurately not their work.

Wow..
