Memoirs Of A Geisha

Hello Everyone:
I noticed a couple of things different from the book and the movie of Memoirs Of A Geisha. For one, I don't remember the fire scene between Hatsumomo and Sayuri happening in the book. As well, the movie left out important events such as when General Tottori became Sayuri's danna, and when Granny dies, which is the first moment when Mameha notices Chiyo at the okiya. What do you guys think? My email address is bellablue16@hotmail.com if you would like to email me with more of your thoughts. I would love to talk with someone who is as interested in this book and film as I am, because I absolutely love both!

Re: Memoirs Of A Geisha

I had to read the book 4 english & kinda had to rush, but what happened in the end? Anyway, I would speak on how I saw the difference between the book & the novel, but I still haven't seen the movie. Anyway, my english teacher had us write an essay about our novels & I of course read Memoirs of a Geisha. My teacher wanted support 4 the quotes we used, & I gave a lot of support & she said I was using plot, like telling her too much about the book. How would she know, she didn't even read the book. Anyways, there were a lot of people that told me that the movie is different from the book. Now I know!!!
