I just completed reading The Hours, by Michael Cunningham and thought that it was
excellent. Lots of juicy objects and symbolism were used to tie the characters together,
very much the way Virginia Wolff (who is one of the characters) employed form and
function in her novels. Her book, Mrs. Dalloway, would make an excellent companion
"read" to The Hours.

This story was interesting, and by the end even a little haunting. I haven't seen the film adaptation of this book yet,
but I think I would like to because I am curious as to how a book like this can be made into a movie. The story has very little action, rather it has more
introspection and flashbacks of the characters. I liked it, but I thought perhaps I could get more out of it if I had also read "Mrs. Dalloway" by Virginia Woolf.
