Re: HOWTO: Keep your ports tree current
by Jennifer Zhao on Wednesday September 10, @06:18PM
Hi, Jason

My box is FreeBSD4.3, I want to upgrade to 4.7-release.
I downloaded cvsup-16.le.tgz and put it in /usr/db/pkg/
As root user, I use the command
#cd /usr/db/pkg
# pkg_add cvsup-16.le.tgz
Then I cp the ../examples/ports-supfiles to /root/; and vi this file, give it cvsup.au.freebsd.org

Then I issue command
#cd /root/
#cvsup ports-supfiles
I got the error,
cvsup: Command not found

So it seems my package install is not very successful. In this case, what should I do?
Your or any other people's advice will be highly appreciated
Jennifer

    Hi,

When I restart the box, and issue
    #cvsup ports-supfile
It works this time. someone said for csh doesn't recoginize newly installed package, still restart or relogin or reharsh.

    Regards,Jennifer
