Posted by Jason on Saturday September 22, @05:34PMfrom the little-server-that-could dept. If you have had some trouble trying to reach our website today, it's because we have just put our new server on-line, the NanoII PC! The transition went fairly well, but I had compiled some options into the kernel that I decided to remove, thus interrupting the site while I rebooted and such. I think we now have one of the smallest FreeBSD servers in the world (grin). The NanoII is not much bigger than a CD jewel case. I bought mine from Linux-Works, but I didn't buy it with an operating system because I wanted to run FreeBSD (of course). It was very refreshing to not have to pay the micro$oft os tax. Even though the folks at Linux-Works named it the NanoII PC, the name on the box was Mini Book PC and I found a few other places that sell them under that name. Here are a couple of links- check it out, it's really a cool little system! Cappuccino Mini PC unicomplabs.com Bargains UK note: I also forgot to create my chucktips email account for the site. If you emailed me earlier and your message was rejected, please try again. It should be okay now. Jason chucktips ubergeek < | >
