First, all my postings at Chucktips are essentially limited to FreeBSD and has nothing to do with DOS/Windows Operating systems.
As for your question about the sound card, you have to install the relevent drivers from the CD which usally comes with the system (check your user manual ). You have to install the drivers after intalling dos/windows. Also, make sure you install the right driver, the README files on the CD should give you the details.

I am in the same situation, trying to geta Patriot c110 working with WIN98se
I cant find drivers for Sound or Modem
Did you find them ?
It says ac97 but it puts it in other devices

there are driver for AC97.
I very lucky to found them and the`re funktion.

Hi guy's
First this is very tricky. You have to download a file SP15509 this you wil get if you do a search under ESS ALLEGRO witch actualy are the Audio chip. When installinng and at the reboot it will install drivers for new hardware and you wil be asked to enter your win98 cd to get a file es198x.sys and suppries it's not there so you have to download that file to. Do a search on goole.com for es198x.sys and you wil find it. Also you need to download n file called allegro.cat, also do a search for that. You will see both these files are part of other drivers i think modems.
