About LAN Technologies

LAN Technologies, LLC was established in 1994 by Jason C. Neumann in Anchorage, Alaska, and now supports clients throughout the west coast and Hawaii. We provide Local and Wide Area Network solutions and support using high end Network Operating Systems including: Cisco IOS, Novell NetWare, Microsoft Windows Server, Linux and BSD UNIX. Jason is the primary service provider for LAN Technologies, and he is assisted by his wife Sharon Neumann in Web Design.

About Jason:
I started my career in the early 80's when I was still in high school. The IBM PC had not yet been invented and the spreadsheet was still a foreign concept to most people. I began by learning the C/PM and M/PM Operating Systems. They are the long outdated predecessors to MS-DOS and Windows.

Later, I became interested in hardware and worked performing component level repairs on PC hardware. Back then it was still viable to repair rather than replace hardware. At that same time I began to develop an interest in AT&T's UNIX Operating System. It was the only true multi-user, multi-tasking OS I knew of at the time.

In 1990 when Local Area Networking (LANs) started gaining popularity, I changed my focus and began learning the Novell NetWare Operating System. In 1991 I became one of the first Certified Novell Engineers (CNEs) in the state of Alaska. I have since followed the trends of the industry and added the necessary credentials to ensure a high quality of networking expertise for my clients.

In 2009 my book, Cisco Routers for the Small Business: A Practical Guide for IT Professionals, was published by Apress.

Author - Cisco Routers for the Small Business (Apress, 2009)
